Misery Point Radio was born from the desire to share music, art and creative expression with the world. Initially intended as a vehicle to showcase local bands from the Seattle area, the show has grown to include interviews with bands and artists from all over the world. And while the focus is predominantly Heavy Metal and all of its myriad subgenres, there have also been a variety of guests from other genres such as rock, punk, Americana, and acoustic as well as a ton of non-musical artists including comic book creators, illustrators, authors, filmmakers, poets, producers, radio and podcast hosts, and more! Darran gave me an education on the DJ industry and how his company is re-writing the rules and taking the world by storm. We covered a lot of ground in this conversation, including how The DJ Sessions became classified as an essential business in Seattle, how they became the premiere Twitch Partner fo the DJ industry, how they are constantly innovating and adapting, what they give back to the community, and where he sees the future of music and entertainment. Today I'm excited to bring you a conversation I've been waiting over a year to have. Last year I spoke to guitarist Chris Hubbard from UK metal band Thirteenth Sign, and in that interview he alluded to their upcoming and as-of-yet- not-officially-announced-or- named concept album. One year later, Chris returns to the show with backup - drummer and producer Lloyd Stringer -to discuss that very album, the newly released THE ASHES OF A TREACHEROUS SILENCE.
